Visited Shandy Hall in the autumn for a day's painting in the garden. The crab apple tree was completely laden with loads of brightly coloured fruit and I couldn't resist painting it. Shandy Hall was the home of Laurence Sterne, who wrote the strange book 'The life and times of Tristram Shandy, gentleman'
